Tuesday Throwdown #344: Anything Goes

Good morning, friends! Time for another new challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we  have everybody's favourite theme: ANYTHING GOES! Here's your chance to go wild... creatively speaking.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Stamploration. You'll find her gorgeous images over at her online store.

I made a simple girly card featuring Sherry Russ's A Cup Of Roses. And every girl knows a tea party wouldn't be complete without a doily!

I coloured the image with Copics, added some interest with sequins Liquid Pearls and finished the project with lashings of Clear Wink of Stella on the roses.

Now it's your turn to create a project based on this week's theme: "Anything Goes". For ideas and inspiration, take a peek at what the rest of the DT members have made. Remember to link up your project at the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Blog by 3pm Pacific / 11pm UK on Monday, May 29th. And the most important requirement: Have Fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!

Chocolate Baroque: Magical Birthday

Hello, friends! Time for another Chocolate Baroque inspired show and tell featuring the Spring Fairy Collection Multi-Buy DL sheets. I made a shiny sparkly birthday card with stamps from the March Fairy DL sheet. The sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque's Words to Sparkle and Dazzle A6 sheet.

I started by stamping the images with VersaFine Onyx Black onto Canson Watercolour paper. Then I coloured them in with Caran d'Ache Suprasoft Pencils. For the hills, I did some masking wth torn paper and applied Mowed Lawn DI. There's also a light dusting of Tumbled Glass DI around the top edge for the sky.

Here's a closer look at the image. I added Stardust Stickles om her outfit because fairies shine, don't they? There's also "Pearl" Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder on her wings. Then I added little blobs of Mint and Daffodil Liquid Pearls.

Colour Inspiration Monday #22: AG with Hand Coloured Image

That's all from me today. It's been gloriously sunny and not too hot. And with the days getting longer.... oh it's been truly magical! Thank you so much for stopping by.

Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #35 - Final Challenge

Welcome to Week 1 of Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge #35. Sadly, this will be our final challenge. We have had a wonderful time playing, creating and having fun. But, like all things in life, there comes a time when even good things come to an end. I hope you'll join us in our last show and tell using this colour swatch:

As always, you can use any medium to create your projects: paints, inks, pencils, pens, stains, etc., as long as you stick to the colours from the colour swatch, using as much or as little of each colour as you wish. You don't have to use Chocolate Baroque stamps to play along but if you do you will be entered into a random draw to win £15 to spend on Chocolate Baroque stamps. All participants will have a chance to be on the Design Team's Top Three list and proudly display the winner's badge on their blog.

Here's my card featuring a stamp from the March Fairy DL stamp sheet. I mirror stamped the image.  To be honest, it turned out better than expected! To prepare the background, embossed a piece of watercolour cardstock with WRMKWhimsy folder and applied Distress inks: Pine Needles and Mowed Lawn. Then I sprinkled some watered down gesso and finished it with droplets of Liquid Pearls: Mint ad Holly.

I did the mirror stamping with VersaFine Black Onyx because the slow drying gave me enough time to position the mirror image. Mememto Tuxedo Black would have dried too fast before I got my act together. When completely dry, I coloured the image with Copics and finished the card with a couple of purple bling.

Thank you for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Chocolate Baroque: Fantasy Castle

Good morning, friends! I have a simple card to share with you today featuring a stamp from Chocolate Baroque's  Fantasy Castles A5 sheet. This set is packed with several lovely castles taken straight out of your favourite fairy tale.

I didn't want to fuss with it too much because this card is all about that magical castle. To make the image pop I stamped a background design with a stamp from Texture Fragments onto grey cardstock with Ranger Cool Graphite Dye Ink.

I coloured the image with Copics and applied some Stardust Stickles to the water. To finish, a light dusting with Distress Ink around the edges. And of course... Wink of Stella on the domes for a touch of magical sparkle!

Thak you so much for stopping by. I'm sorry I'm not as active on the blog as I used to be. Life is kinda overwhelming at the moment and I'm barely managing to get my DT stuff done. I'm hoping the dust will settle soon... fingers crossed! Your comments and comments are greatly appreciated... and do not go unnoticed.

Chocolate Baroque: May Day Magic

It's the start of a brand new month! The year is racing by, my friends and here we are: the first day of May. Here is Portugal we call it Os Maios - May Day a Spring celebration of flowers, wreaths, garlands, food, drink... and lots of it! Just another excuse for excess ... as if we need an excuse! :)

It is a magical period: spring buds turning into blooms amongst lush greenery; floral perfume linger in the air; vibrant colours everywhere. It's magical! With this mind, I created an Art Journal Page. This is my contribution to the monthly AJ collaboration with like-minded bloggers. My partner in crime is Alice of Scrap & C. She posted her project last week: check it out here - amazing!

My project features stamps by Chocolate Baroque. The fairy is from the May Fairy DL sheet, which is part of the Spring Fairy Collection. The extra foliage and flowers are from the June Fairy and July Fairy DL sheets, respectively. These stamps are also available as the 3-stamp set called Summer Fairy Collection.

I prepared the background by priming the sheet with Faber-Castell Gesso and when completely dry, I applied Folk Art Acrylic Paints - details in the photos below.

The Folk Art paints in the background are Apple Orchard, Cut Grass, New Leaf, Citrus, Fresh Fern and Lemon Pie. I stamped the foliage with stamps from the June Fairy DL sheet with VersaFine Olympia Green and Archival Ink Fern. For texture, I added little droplets of Liquid Pearl Mint and dots with a White Sharpie.

Here's the fairy from the May Fairy DL sheet. I stamped her with Memento Espresso Truffle, coloured with Copics and fussy cut her. I heat embossed her wings with WOW Silver EP and added lots of Stickles Stardust. I doused the fairy's dress with Stickles Icicle.

To create the "window", I used Ranger Texture Paste and TCW Stencil called Mini Cathedral of Love. I coloured the paste silver using Deco Art Dazzling Silver Metallic Paint.

These butterflies are from the May Fairy DL sheet. I heat embossed them with WOW Silver EP and added lots of Stickles Stardust.

For the background in the bottom half of the AJ page, I used Folk Art paints in Black Cherry, Magenta, Berry Wine, Sugar Plum, Peony, Baby PinkLight Periwinkle and a touch of Midnight. The flowers are from the July Fairy DL sheet, stamped with VersaFine Imperial Purple and Olympia Green. I stamped the sentiment with Archival Ink Jet Black and to finish, I added some highlights with a White Sharpie.

And voila! We have a little May Day Magic - an Art Journal Page depicting just what that looks like in my head. :)
